Tueday's Tidbits (& Sips): 07 July 2009

Today, rather than give you a recipe or show you pretty pictures, I wanted to share with you some information about a newer website that I have enjoyed perusing over the past few weeks: Nibbledish.  Nibbledish is, as the tagline reads, a place to browse, create and share recipes.

The best way to describe Nibbledish is a Flickr for recipes.  It is a community-oriented website that allows registered users to post Creative Commons licensed recipes (with photos), select favorite recipes, comment on recipes and send private messages to other registered users.

I have set up a profile on the site but currently only have a single recipe posted, my Sri Lankan Chickpea Curry.  Why is that?  Well, because to post a recipe, one must also post a photograph of said recipe.  While this requirement makes it helpful for me to browse other recipes and determine what ones I might like based not only a description of the dish, but also a photograph, it makes it more difficult for me to post recipes.  I don’t have the results of too many of my recipes photographed.  This means that in order to post on Nibbledish I’m going to have to go back through recipes that I’d like to share and make and photograph each one.  Oh well.  It could be fun…

First, though, I want to make this wonderfully delicious-looking Crepes Cake with Chocolate Meringue Frosting.  Doesn’t it look scrumptious?
