happy things for hump day, 2011.#09

It’s Wednesday. I need some happy things to get me over that hump in the middle of the week. I thought you might, too; so, some of the things that have made me smile recently:

  1. Watching this video about financial planning that Andrew’s father found.  It is hilarious!!!
  2. Watching the Delicious Nippon series over on YouTube.  This eight-part series was produced by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and serves as a good introduction to Japanese cuisine and food culture.  It also is a good example of Japanese informational television programming.  In addition, the culinary expert, Naoyuki Yanagihara, is freakin’ adorable!!  Here’s the first episode to get you started:

  3. Listening to the album Girls and Boys by Ingrid Michaelson.  For some reason, I just can’t get enough of her voice lately…
  4. Exploring places through photos shared on Flickr.  Checking out photos of Pennsylvania reminds me just how diverse the landscape is in the state in which I live: two big pockets of city life surrounded by small towns, wide open farmland and almost untouched wilderness.  Besides that, there are so, so, so many places to explore!
  5. Knitting!  Honestly, I still knit, even though my blog shows no real evidence of it.  I will be posting some knitting updates soon, though.

That’s it for now! Happy Hump Day!! Hope you too find something that makes you smile.
