So you know that “slightly more ambitious” crochet project I spoke of?  This is it!!

Meet Euan.  He will be one of my companions on my upcoming trip to Japan.  I plan to take plenty of photographs of him in many of the places that I visit.

Although he’s far from perfect, it turns out that amigurumi is not as hard as I first imagined it to be.  Euan is, after all, my first completed crochet project.  I do have to say, though, that the next amigurumi I undertake will have to be slightly larger in scale.  While I enjoyed crocheting Euan, he is a very tiny bear.  For comparison’s sake, that is one of the very small Moleskine notebooks in the photograph.  The notebook happens to be part of another travel project on which I am working.  I’ll be posting about it soon…  Anyway, I choose to make him such a small bear so that he would be ultra portable.; however, the size made things quite difficult for my relatively large fingers.  During this project, I also realized that I really need to pick up some doll eyes for the next project, as much of my time was spent trying out different eye options.  I finally ended up with the orange felt eyes you see in the photographs, which one of my dear friends points out, makes Euan look a little like a zombie bear.  But I’m ok with that…
