As for some of All The Things, there’s definitely knitting (I could come up with subcategories for that one, such as holiday gifts, swaps, utilitarian items, and frivolous I’ve-been-wanting-to-make-this-forever, to name a few), spinning, learning to cook chicken, taking up running, the spirituality one, reading, and getting myself singing again. Oh, and the food, folks, and fun at fall festivals. I keep scheming apple-picking parties and hikes in the mountains, but I’ll probably settle for buying cider.

Have you read anything by Cecilia Tan? She has two series of gay male erotica-with-a-plot that are really good. The first, Magic University, is fantasy set in Veritas, a (ahem) magical university hidden within the Harvard campus. It’s often been described as “Harry Potter goes to college”, and this is somewhat apt, although the narrator is a lot more well-adjusted than Harry!

The other, Daron’s Guitar Chronicles, is actually serialized online at daron.ceciliatan.com. It’s updated multiple times a week, and you can buy e-books of the previous years. It’s about Daron, the gay guitarist of a moderately popular rock band in the mid-80s, as he struggles with coming out and his on-again, off-again affair with the band’s hot, slutty lead singer. Seriously good. I’ve been reading since week one and eagerly anticipate each update.
