Amazing socks! I really like the pattern and the texture they get. The color is awesome as well. Great job! :)

(And about what you mention about the pictures... I totally agree with you. And one last thing: Cool shoes! hehe)

Hey Chad,

Have you read anything by Cecilia Tan? She has two series of gay male erotica-with-a-plot that are really good. The first, Magic University, is fantasy set in Veritas, a (ahem) magical university hidden within the Harvard campus. It's often been described as "Harry Potter goes to college", and this is somewhat apt, although the narrator is a lot more well-adjusted than Harry!

The other, Daron's Guitar Chronicles, is actually serialized online at daron.ceciliatan.com. It's updated multiple times a week, and you can buy e-books of the previous years. It's about Daron, the gay guitarist of a moderately popular rock band in the mid-80s, as he struggles with coming out and his on-again, off-again affair with the band's hot, slutty lead singer. Seriously good. I've been reading since week one and eagerly anticipate each update.

Lately I've been surprising myself by actually reading a fair bit, and even stepping out of what I used to think my typical genre would be. Interesting thoughts you have; you make me want to give it a try.

Interesting, I'll have to check it out. I don't know why I didn't know that m/m romance novels existed. I always try to stay far away from those things because I'm afraid that they'll just be full of offensive stereotypes, but perhaps I'll give this one a try.

This has been a year of socks for me, but not necessarily for me. Worsted weight socks for those times at home when your feet need some happy are a great relief after something tedious like Java socks. I have a pair of Javas, though, and they are really spiffin'. Good choice!

I have serious project lust for the study in stripes shawl. My favorite pair of mitts was Douglas--less simple than it seems, and very lovely. And you know how much I love Damask. Soooooo much pretty! :D

Those look SOOOOO tasty! I wish it was possible to retain the wonderful, vibrant green of fresh jalapeños while canning them. And dude--pickled peppers in egg salad sounds super awesome! The creamy, smooth salad would make a perfect counterpoint to the spicy bite of the peppers. What goes in your egg salad?

OMG, these are SO AWESOME! Even Steph likes them and generally she doesn't like jalapenos. I chop them up and put them on top of scrambled eggs, hot dogs, quesadillas, tacos... Obviously I've been getting a lot of use out of the jar you gave me. I should probably start rationing them out, unless you want to give me another jar. Just saying... ;-)
